▽ Project Overview

We were commissioned by KEN RACK SYSTEM Inc. to design two printed publications: a company brochure and a product catalogue for their brand, “Kodomo no Koe ga Kikoeru Koubou kara” (From the Workshop Where Children’s Voices Can Be Heard).
While the two publications serve different purposes, both were designed to communicate the warmth of natural wood, the quality of the company’s craftsmanship and the thoughtful approach behind its furniture.

▽ The Challenge

The company brochure and product catalogue each needed to communicate a different aspect of the business while maintaining a sense of connection between them.
For the company brochure, the challenge was to communicate KEN RACK SYSTEM’s craftsmanship, values and dedication to manufacturing in a clear and trustworthy way.
For the product catalogue, we needed to present the furniture clearly while capturing the warmth, playfulness and child-friendly spirit of the brand.

▽ Our Approach

For the company brochure, we developed a warm and understated visual direction inspired by the natural texture and character of wood. Clean layouts and carefully balanced spacing allow the company’s philosophy and craftsmanship to take centre stage.
The product catalogue takes a brighter and more playful approach. Light colours and lively compositions were used to evoke the energy and curiosity of children while allowing the warmth and beauty of the wooden furniture to remain the focus.
By adapting the visual direction to the purpose of each publication, we created two distinct designs that still feel connected through their shared sense of warmth and craftsmanship.

▽ Design Highlights

The company brochure uses a simple, refined layout to communicate reliability and craftsmanship without unnecessary visual decoration. Natural tones and generous spacing complement the character of the company’s wooden products.
In contrast, the product catalogue introduces a lighter and more cheerful visual rhythm, reflecting the brand’s connection with children. Product imagery and information were carefully arranged to make the catalogue easy to browse while creating an engaging and welcoming impression.
Together, the two publications communicate both the professional character of KEN RACK SYSTEM and the warmth and personality of its children’s furniture brand.
